I’m in the story time and I’m enjoying it so far, but we’ve already done the locked room mystery countless times and Koguro is still a shithead while Conan gets zero credit. I can imagine it must get old eventually as it’s over 1100 chapters and still doing self contained arcs. I read/like and OP so I have a tolerance for things dragging on at times but I wonder how long I’ll last since apparently there’s still barely any major progression regarding the men in black according to long time fans

Probably because Americans can watch way better detective shows like Columbo. Case Closed doesn’t offer anything new and interesting as a mystery show or use the medium of animation for anything impressive. Show also has massive pedo vibes:

I have a super autistic friend who catalogued how many days have passed on screen. Even with stacking multiple cases together to crunch time, Conan would be in his mid 30s currently.

Yeah I dunno who it filtered. It was popular, got a dub, I've never talked to anyone who didn't like it. It was a fun show. Most people might not've liked it enough to read 30 years of manga chapters, but if they'd kept dubbing it it probably would've done fine.
