The fanbase currently obsessed with Gundam or Pokémon consists mostly of balding middle-aged men in their 30s and 40s.
15year-olds couldn't care less about these outdated franchises.
The latest Gundam GQuuuuuuX is utter garbage—it's practically meaningless except for its female lead being a sex doll. No one cares about Gundam itself.
Pokémon is in a similar situation—both the anime and games keep getting worse. Yet thanks to their massive fanbases, they still rake in huge profits.
But their fanbases are almost entirely middle-aged adults; kids don't like them at all. Both franchises are about to become obsolete.

gundam are pretty shit honestly. you're telling me I have to snip and file down the nub myself? assemble the whole figure myself? what's the fucking point?

Youtube and TikTok. They dream of being the next Mr.Beast.

kids will sooner get into slot cars and model trains. at least those fucking do something.

It sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about man.

>kids don't like them at all
Is this really the case for Pokémon?

Painting assembled models is fundamentally not a hobby, but a complex endeavor.
Only the most dedicated enthusiasts enjoy it, as it consumes vast amounts of your time and money.
Kids today simply aren't interested in this nonsense—they lack both the time and the funds.
They're only drawn to drugs and prostitutes, because that's fast happy.

Unless your parents are weird manchildren pokemon fans who get you into it, most kids don't give a shit about pokemon.
They don't see it on television and it doesn't trend, a kid is more likely to be familiar with Tung Tung Sahur than Pikachu.

They sell pikachu kids clothes in Tesco, pretty sure it's still mainstream.

You can find videos of people lining up to buy Pokémon merchandise. However, the vast majority are middle-aged adults, with hardly any children showing interest in it.

They still sell Lilo and Stitch clothes as well, anything nostalgia they'll sell for quick buck.
Kids wear dragon ball clothes and they don't even know who Goku is, they are ancient passed down symbols that people have forgot their meaning.
They wear Sonic merch, never even played a Sonic game.

I had forgotten that the default form of entertainment for children had changed from TV and games to Youtube Shorts and Tiktok shit...

The same thing is happening in the gaming card market—only 30+ old men are interested in these.
Kids aren't interested in these at all, and they don't have the money either.

Ironically enough, I quite liked all the GQuuuuuuX-original stuff. But all the nostalgia pandering felt oddly at clash with the new stuff GQuuuuuuX tried to do or present.
It really felt like a show that was at odds with itself. And I feel like both parts of the show were worse off for it.

I dunno how kids are even supposed to get into TCGs when resellers are snatching up packs and sets and jacking up prices because morons like this are willing to pay them.

I have a feeling the Lilo and Stitch stuff might be because they released a Lilo and Stitch movie in cinemas a few months ago.

Gundam Quuuuuux was a commercial success as much as /a/ and /m/ doesn't want to admit it. Same goes for g-witch. Gunpla sales are the highest it's been in years, it's not going away anytime soon. The same can be said for pokemon, yes the quality of content is declining but that isn't stopping merch sales which keep the series a float and the suits happy.

Both Gundam and Pokemon are too big to go under any time soon. Not to mention they both belong to very big companies
>>
>>283089131
While you've got a point about Gundam's appeal to children, you're frankly delusional about Pokemon's. It is the highest-grossing media franchise in the world and part of that is because it continues to target children 5-12 and refuses to mature with its audience compared to something like Digimon. This is personally why I lost interest in it around my teens, but why it can keep bringing in a new audience while also maintaining some older fans. Don't let all these 30-something youtubers opening trading card packs or whatever deceive you. There are still just as many, if not more, children into Pokemon than adults. You just don't hear from them on social media.

The fact that you went on 4chan to ask this and hardly anyone could give you a real, "on-the-ground" response let alone make fun of you for asking shows how boomer-tier this imageboard has become.
