they missed an opportunity by not debuting the final episodes of AoT at the cinema?
>>283096258At this point it's probably a mistake not to do theatrical debuts for every major series. It's a popular enough thing that Gqux, KnY, and Dandadan have all been brought over to the US for screenings too. Now we just need the next innovation of continuous theatrical releases during the season that bundle episodes 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 after they air. I want to watch an entire cour in theaters.
a lot will rely on CSM movie. if it works, it means anime can work as a theatrical feature.
>>283096258It would have made bank, not as much as the KnY movies but definitely over 200M. AoT hype was at an all time high. Would’ve been better than that part 3 2 specials nonsense. They missed their chance. Makes me wonder why Toei didn’t stick to DBS movies instead of a poorly animated show. I also wonder if they’ll do a canon movie for one piece in the future
>>283096258AoT probably wouldn't have broken records or gotten to KnY's level, and I think a lot more people would have been pissed after following the series for more than a decade and 80 episodes to have the ending gatekept as a movie like that. Whereas newer series are going the movie route earlier on so it's less of a last minute rugpull. As it is the theatrical re-release of the final AoT episodes still made plenty of money and they got to do another merch push.>>283097258AoT hype peaked during the first cour of Seaon 4 which coincided with the manga ending, but started to decrease each time the remaining parts got delayed and you got "final season part 3 part 2 the final final part" bullshit dragged on for two years. If they somehow made all of season 4 into a couple movies and got them out quickly maybe they could have capitalized on the hype more, but not after all those delays and animeonlies just reading the end of the manga because they got tired of waiting.
I still can't believe how much normalfags slurped up the aot ending.
>>283096258lolFUCK no.
