Bastard! and by coincidental extension Akashic Record of Bastard Magical Instructor were master classes in magic systems that aren't just yelling out the spell name. Alec's 20 spell chain should have been accompanied by badass incants to inform the audience that this is something special, not just him waving a wand in the air like a conductor's baton, it made the impact of the event mundane.
