Last episode was pretty great. I think it would have been better if Kaito was a more established character and Uta's bond with him felt like it actually warranted its own power up, but 31 and 35 gave him enough that I could care about him in the last episode. I don't think the first 30 episodes helped much in that regard. Not really sure if the show is actually going for Uta being one-sidedly romantically in love with Kaito or if it's 100% platonic. Other seasons would be more direct if a Cure were one-sidedly in love with a guy, age gap or no age gap. The other Cures seem to think it's romantic, but Uta seems way more invested in hooking up Kaito back with Jogi than being in a relationship with him.
Ribbons represent bonds in this show, so it was neat to to see one come out of the fist bump between Idol and motw Kaito.

Each episode that featured Uta and Kaito it was properly portrayed that emotions were slowly starting to build up for Uta. Love is not something that is suddenly realized but builds up slowly over time and each time Kaito and Uta interacted you could tell something was blooming. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Uta ended up liking Kaito.Now these interactions are completely different to that of Satoru and Iroha. You could tell those feelings were platonic and Satoru never did anything you would consider flirty whether intentional or not. It wasn't until Satoru's accidental confession that Iroha had to ponder if her feelings were the same. Compared to Idol, this was a more forced approach to relationship.

For some reason, it feels less weird to have precures date adults than it'd be if they were ordinary girls.Probably because of the usual power gap between adults and young teenagers isn't present? The Cures mostly act mature and the fact that they are basically the most powerful and important people in the world kind of lowers or maybe even inverts the usual power-imbalance which would normally make such relationships unappetizing.
