There was a trope in anime I thought would never die out but it finally did and I'm glad. It was annoying. It's female anime characters that refer to themselves in the third person, like "Chika thinks rice balls are the best!" etc. This trope seems to have died so many years ago now I'm not sure zoomers realize how widespread this bullshit was in the 90s/00s but I personally am just now realizing it's been gone for a long time.

Japanese doesn't have grammatical persons. It doesn't even have real pronouns.
Using your name to refer to yourself is completely fine in the Japanese language.
It's not English.

Are you fucking stupid? They absolutely have personal pronouns.
>Using your name to refer to yourself is completely fine in the Japanese language
No it's not. It sounds childish and retarded even in Japanese, that's why only female characters do it because it's supposed to be "cute"
