It seems they decided to remake MKR, made a poster and announced it at the same time they began work on it. So a year has passed, I would guess they're far along the process but animation takes time, they felt they couldn't continue in silence despite not having a trailer ready and just showed another poster instead this time with the actual faces. So I'm guessing if they're doing things right then perhaps it could begin airing in the first half of 2026, although who knows they didn't say a date so it could be Oct. 2026 a whole other year for all we know.
Ranma remake on the other hand announced it once they basically had the entire first season animated when they announced it since it was only coming out in a few months and all of it even leaked like 2 months before it began airing. I definitely prefer the second approach.

If i had to guess it's because they need people to work there and the sort of young people that are willing to put up with shit hours and low pay are only really willing to do that so that they can work on their favorite series. If you wait to announce a series till you are actually working on it you aren't getting a lot of new people.
