Why is the greatest sin self loathing?If they wanted Shinji to like himself, why didn't they provide support and affirmation and help him recognize he was loved? Why beat up who is essentially a victim?Even in a meta sense, one of the most common criticisms of Eva is "Shinji is annoying and whiny." Why are people unable to recognize that characters can be written as flawed, and this is not a shortcoming of an artistic work?

>>283152891Because women evolved to seek survival value. So they test and push boundaries subconsciously wanting the man to assert himself and make them submit. If he doesn’t to they’ll just get angrier and want to find someone else. To their biology it’d almost the same as a physical threat, because in the animal kingdom we evolved for getting impregnated by a man who can’t defend you is tantamount to death.
Because this anime is idealistic and wrong. So many who hate themselves have amazing lives, and so many who love themselves have horrible lives. It acts as though you can never form equal or meaningful relationships unless you love yourself but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Its surprising to see just how many people today still dont get it. Even after all these years people still are confused and annoyed by Shinji being a crybaby. There is no cure.
