OP here (sorry I made this thread and went to sleep)
I think it was the beauty in it, the soundtrack, the timeless presentation (only in one ep you can see a notebook, other wise you wouldnt know this was from mid 2000's), how they perceipt emotions, you have comedy, drama, and even horror (yeah I got a little spooky when they went to that beach house), and the last 3 ep where he encounter his mom's spirit and the one where a little boy helps him fight the evil spirits made me have wattered eyes

Best if you just try a few episodes and decide for yourself. Anyway, anime has its own charm and good atmosphere. Expect a bit of quality, too. Overall I like the manga better, but I love the anime too.
