By pointing out how the existing definitive ending wasn’t as definitive as we thought, not by introducing new bullshit mechanics that didn’t exist back then, but by attaching it with actual arguments that anyone could have made at the time. Rebellion is an example of how unplanned sequels should be done, and I hope Kaiten follows the same formula.

The gacha game thread is also alive and people talk there about both the original show as well as the spinoffs and original stories and the game's meta and strategies. However I have to say that all side content i've consumed until now has been very disappointing when compared to PMMM+rebellion. I'd love to see anime adaptations of Oriko Magica and Scene 0 and i feel like, if adapted right, those could be what they wanted Magia Records to be. Scene 0 arguably spits on the original story a bit by uhm akshually there was a green meguca who kept up with homura's timeloops and she has like 390 skills and she hard carried homura sweaty..., but she's cute so that's ok.Source: I play the Magia Exedra gacha, but didn't play the Magia Records one. Let me just finish up by saying I don't get how people consider rebellion an unnecessary sequel and accept that the original "miracles happen and everyone was happy in the end" is an acceptable ending, even ignoring all other signs that pointed towards a sequel.
