I think mankind’s pre-empire shenanigans earned them a Goldenbaum. Kind of deserved it too for stooping so low after accomplishing so much.

If you want an excuse to re-experience the story, it's a good watch. If you're a modern anime fan who just can't stomach the old OVA even though it's kino, it's worth checking out regardless. I hope they finish it.
