Okay maybe a bit more than a touch of 'tism..

Well THAT explains why he hates it now.

Any symbolic resemblance and meaning between the firm outreaching hand here and in >>283222344 is purely coincidental and you definitely shouldn't read any hidden message woven into the overarching story from it..

I'll take a break and finish this volume in a few hours if this thread is alive or make a new one.

Thank you OP! I just noticed you dumping. Haven't finished this series but i did like both the short stories and the overarching plot involving the little kid.

Appreciate bumping the thread, I'll be dumping the series to completion on Halloween so it's worth sticking around for the season.
I'll go ahead and continue dumping now to keep the thread tidy.

The art may be crude but the expressions are always great.

comfy horror

>The art may be crude but the expressions are always great.
As you say the expressions are excellent, and I actually think the sketch-y unrefined artstyle lends itself well to the unsettling nature of the horrific imagery as well as in the more melancholic moments as seen here.
>>
>>283223536
>comfy horror
Especially when Hina is the ghost storyteller...

As you were saying.

Ch. 16

Poor kid isn't even allowed to enjoy some origami paper toys...
>>
>>
>>283223567
Yeah, the style definitely fits these stories. I also like the variety, this was both tragic but kind of cute in a grim way while others are just fucked up.
>>
>>
>>283222228
I am, I just was going through the other thread.

Sick, I can always go for a good ghost story anthology.

Uh oh.....
>>
>>283223712
The reflection in the first panel, so nice. The mangaka also understands horror, both the subtle and the in-your-face style like in the next page >>283223729, a proper jumpscare.
>>
>>283223987
How does Umakin get away with it?
>>
>>283224317
>The reflection in the first panel, so nice.
Glad someone picked up on that. This manga is full of small details in that way.
>>
>>283224341
>How does Umakin get away with it?
We don't "cotton" to your kind around here...

Disgustingly effective use of both limited paneling and negative space to drive home the claustrophobia and despair in the story.

Once again don't worry about any similarities between the ghost stories and what happens outside them...

Kek, well it was an amusing gimmick in the scanlated version I thought was worth inserting for this storytime.

Take a look back in the top corner of the window in the first panel of >>283225332

In the 0.01% chance you are unfamiliar with the original urban legend this story takes adaptations from in 2025 (or just want to brush up on the source material):

Also would.

Introduce yourself and offer to get to know someone and any of their shared interests over a meal? Bzzt!
Emotionally manipulate them into seeking your protection out of co-dependency via pseudo-stalking? Okay!

>pseudo-stalking
Sounds like he did plenty of real stalking before he moved in.
>>
>>283225351
Ohh, that empty space in the top left is fantastic with that sense of paranoia it induces.
I checked this thread on a whim but I'm definitely looking forward to rest of the dump now.
>>
>>283226856
Horror works well in manga in a way it mostly doesn't in animation or writing exactly because of moments like that. There's something about how you look from panel to panel and put together what's happening in your imagination that lets it operate.
>>
>>283225519
I've never been able to properly sound out in my head what the "Po Po Po" sound is, it just makes me think of the Teletubbies.
>>
>>283225604
I've noticed that many of the males look like older versions of the boy, though I'm unsure how much of that is intentional or not.
>>
>>283225819
kek based, i thought for sure it was going to be the ghost of an ex-tenant or something, bamboozled

Bump!!!!

When I was reading this on fucking managex the gif was automatic and I got fucking spooked hard lol

Those were some nice reads. I'll stick around for future volumes. Thanks, OP

What are people but a collection of memories?
I don't think I have a memory yet that I would write on the gum.

Tysm OP!!

I would try to look under her skirt
