I always found it odd how Sasuke's arc in Part 1 ends in him rejecting the Mangekyo Sharingan by refusing to kill Naruto. Then in Part 2 he loses the Curse Mark and gets the MS after Itachi dies. And he doesn't even get any unique or interesting MS abilities. It's just the same shit we already saw from Itachi, except instead of Tsukuyomi, Sasuke can control the flames of Amaterasu. But Amaterasu never accomplishes anything anyway, so functionally, all he gets is Susanoo.

We're told Shikamaru is crafting a master keikaku with his 10 kunai, flashbang and smoke bombs but really things just happen without much consideration for "how", you just have to accept what he did worked and him reading Tayuya's song with her fingers somehow changed the result.Basically Kishimoto knows the end result he wants but not really a convincing way to get there. Just like Neji vs Kidomaru which relies on Neji standing at the center and doing nothing despite being fast enough to blitz Kido in 1 second at the end of the fight. Why wasn't he running to force Kido to chase and reveal his location? Kishimoto didn't want that
