I feel a bit sorry for Shaft. They struck gold with Bakemonogatari being the best selling anime of the 2000s and then struck gold again just two years later with Madoka being one the best selling anime of the 2010s, but despite having such incredible momentum they have been unable to create another hit and most of their attempts have been flops. So now they just create more of what worked before until those franchises inevitably stagnate and they become known as a once great studio that became outdated like Gainax.

What is the sexiest use of gags in any SHAFT work? I feel the Nisemonogatari toothbrush scene has to be up there. With the stormy sky and the house shutting down like some emergency lockdown. Tsukihi's reaction to the 'cest was also beautiful. All of the taboo feelings and the humor that is used to cover it. The siblings putting their hands up and Tsukihi snapping and running off like a cartoon character. The fact that the scene just resumes before fading away with a statement from Araragi about growing closer to his sister. It is all so hot.
