He was. Dragon Ball is such an easy read. With so many other manga I find myself skimming over action and double spreads because I get tired of trying to repeatedly discern exactly what’s happening underneath all the screen tones, greyscale texture, and onomatopoeia. But never the with toriyama’s work.
For someone who preferred his gags, he was remarkably good at creating action spectacle...Maybe that's why I liked Buu so much as a child.
