Hawkins gave away the location of the doll earlier, anyway. Top panel shows it in the arm with the armored elbow cover thing, while the bottom left panel shows the sound effect of it slipping back into his left arm. Granted Killer has no way of knowing whether or not Hawkins can move them around within his body, so he's taking a bit of a gamble, it's still a gamble that he has to take to have any chance of winning the fight.
