I missed last week's dump thread and the following discussion, so I don't know what the consensus is regarding Momo's underwhelming reaction to the "Takakura" reveal. But I'm throwing my own two cents anyway.So since Momo didn't make the connection with Ken Takakura, the actor, it's reasonable to assume she lost her memories about her crush on him, as well. And since she dated the guy she dumped back in Chapter 1 because he reminded her of Takakura, and was already friends with Miko and Muko at the time, it's also reasonable to assume her amnesia isn't as simple as "memories cut out after a certain date".I think what actually happened is Momo's memories of the people she cares the most about were sacrificed (it's also who she was thinking about as she was vanishing), kind of how people would get squashed by Nanika in HxH if you didn't agree to pay the price - I assume both Togashi and Tatsu picked the idea from some pre-existing Japanese belief similar to "red string of fate", but I'm no expert in Jap culture. Which I guess would mean that her crush on Takakura the actor was genuine.The most obvious hole in the theory is the fact that she didn't forget about Seiko, but that might be because she decided to sacrifice herself for Seiko in the first place, so *those* memories remained - which clearly point to some magic shenanigans, and therefore a chance to bring those memories back.
