They have English subs, Japanese subs that autotranslate to English well, or just speak English in Hoshima's case. I think the main things that aren't intuitive is enamel eye painting and clear skin painting. They mix better too, Mr. Hobby adds a lot of grey/white/black pigment filler to their paints so you can lose saturation quickly. Also Gaia's surfacers are also primers which make them stick better. Only Mr. Hobby's low grit surfacers are primers which can cause you to lose detail. But Mr. Hobby is still good, especially if they have a color you can't find from Gaia.

If it has a problem sticking it probably has to do with the resin not being washed enough or that it's a very smooth 3d printed one, which means that you should use more powerful resin washes, or in the case of 3d prints, probably use something like gaia/jumpwind multi primer. As for bang for your buck, I'd say mr.hobby is up there, gaianotes is better but it's also 1.5x more expensive in general. At least I mix my own paints. I'll update the guide for this and maybe expand the explanation for enamel eye painting.

Using GX Deep Clear Red for shading a bright red can give you the illusion of a more neutral red. Some people like Gaia Hexa Red too.
