Felt like the entire chapter was just exposition. Didn't really get a sense for any sort of interesting dynamic between Gonron and the egg, why was Gonron so ready to die for it when his personality seems to revolve entirely around his unwillingness to submit? The monster designs are good, but you don't really get a sense for the scope of the world and how the drakarchs have altered it (disappointingly, it seems to just be post apocalypse Japan with some embellishments, but surely there could still be something to establish?) The panelling is very uninspired too, pretty much the manga equivalent of shot/reverse shot conversation scenes in film for most of the chapter.
