>this character dodges lightning in this one panel, if you calculate the distance of the attack to them, that makes at least mach 50>these two characters talked this one time, this means they lust for each otherWho is more retarded, shippers or powerscalers?
Shippers. The power scalers are focusing on technical detail and ignoring things like narrative context and metaphor. That's dumb, but just regular autist dumb.Shippers are focusing on relationships but totally unable to understand relationships. They're not just clueless, but clueless about the specific thing they're obsessed with.
>which pile of shit smells better
>>283332926Well? Which one?
>>283332819Powerscalers are forced to learn about things like theoretical physics, or literal physics. It often ends up being an introduction to philosophical and scientific concepts most hobbies won’t introduce you to, it also makes them watch/read more stuff because of the crossover nature of it. Some series like Umineko and Medaka Box are only as popular as they are online due to power scaling.Meanwhile, what do shippers learn? To misinterpret every single relationship as romantic, very often become pro lgbt degenerates because it gives them more shipping options, it can be an entry point to "social sciences" (made up shit to create fake jobs) rabbit holes, and it doesn’t introduce people to any series because shipfags almost universally reject crossover shipping. When they grow out of it, the powerscaler will will have more scientific and philosophical knowledge and have in his own way made experience quantifying objective data; the shipper will likely be more mentally ill and leftist, is likely to become depressed or even ACK himself. I think it’s pretty clear which one is the least of two evils, even if both of them are mostly time wasted.
>>283332819Both are equally bad>powerscalers determine how good a character is by how strong they are and whether they win fights or not >get super autistic over stupid physics and math when mangaka don’t give a shit about that technical stuff >ignore things like narrative, themes and spend their time discussing pointless battle and scaling scenariosNow shippers>will ignore everything about the story just like powerscalers and focus only on the romance which isn’t that important >a series’ quality is dependent on whether the two characters they ship get together or not >more blatant self inserting >even when there’s no romance at all, they’ll still try to force ships
>>283332992Powerscaling is semitic in nature
I’d say powerscalers are worse, just look at dragon ball fans and the /DBG/ general on /co/(all the dbs shitters went there). Romance is something found in countless series so it makes sense fans would discuss those couples. Meanwhile, no battle series actually cares about powerscaling and the math behind giant attacks. It’s just fans jerking themselves off to calculations that don’t matter. Toriyama had Roshi destroy the moon because it was a cool and over the top way to stop Goku. Oda had Garp throw an inexplicably large cannonball at high speed because it was a funny gag-esque way to show off his strength. They weren’t thinking about the math or logistics behind it. Fucking Toriyama even got rid of numerical power levels and retarded dragon ball spics still try to assign a number PL to Goku as if it matters
The average powerscaler is worse than the average shipper. But the worst shipper is leagues ahead of the worst powerscaler.I'm yet to hear powerscalers feeding people food with needles inside of it because of a versus result disagreement.
>>283333023Shipping much more so.
Powerscaling is more pointless because battle mangaka don’t care about it and hate drawing fights which is why they’ll offscreen shit or just have everything be done in one page. There’s also the fact that despite a character getting stronger, the sense of scale doesn’t really increase. Look at dragon ball, kid goku could dodge lightning and as an adult he’s 100x faster but it doesn’t really come off that way in neither the manga or anime. The weight of the punches still look the same despite them being able to destroy whole planets. Characters will also get nerfed for plot reasons whenever the author feels like it
>>283333063>muh dragon ballCounterpoint: Madoka
THE STRONGEST!!
>>283333079What do you consider to be "the average shipper"? Because I think I have yet to see a shipper that wasn’t mentally ill. While the average powerscaler is just a nerd.
I think powerscalers, on average, are more delusional because they actually think they're being objective and logical. Like they think they're applying real science or math when all they're doing is pulling numbers out of thier ass.Shippers be crazy but they'll at least acknowledge that what they're talking about is within the realm of the humanities.
>>283332819
>>283333694I’ve seen shippers make shit much more autistic than this
>>283332819It honestly just varies on whatever fanbase you inhabit on how often you exposed to one or the other and how intense they are about their particular tism.
>>283333079I think I agree. The death threats thing and major chimpouts also almost exclusively seem to be a shipper thing.

>>283333707>blatantly lying because you’re ashamedlmfao
>power scalers have an interest in physics and mathHoly shit, the fucking delusion. Asking google to fire up some calculations for you to explain ridiculous feats in an argument is not a genuine interest in physics or math. Using real world laws of physics and logic is stupid to begin with, the series you argue over don’t follow them
>>283332992This is just autism vs aesthetics.
>>283332819You should think of powerscaling as a sort of "square peg into round hole" method of putting characters from completely different works/settings in a neutral context, so that they can be compared under a shared framework of ground rules. It's obviously clunky and autistic, but it's just a way to contrive an answer for "who would win" hypotheticals for which the answer would otherwise just be "whoever the writer(s) wants".It only really becomes retarded when you try to apply the reasoning or conclusions thereof back to the actual narrative itself, or really, any sort of context that isn't specifically "imaginary crossover fights".

>>283332819I'll see a shipper and they're unironically following lgbt shit or larping. I look again and they're randomly lying. What do you gain from lying on the internet? It's like the difference between seeing a stupid person and a murderer or petty criminal.
ignoring the ""'''community''''"",powerscaling analyzes every tiny tid bit of power system on how it works, the characters characteristics, the references and how the story narrative integrates with characters power, from every single media (be it WN,LN,manga,anime,VN,game(video/board/table/arg)), which one is canon, are there multiple version from multiple verse/multiverse, also integrating math, physics, science when going full 'tismmaxxing. powerscaling might sounds ridiculous (because it is) but at least there is some sort of something gained for maybe a fangame or fananimationand shipping is cute (e.g. #TeamOnodera) but it's just characters being together and the author solved relationship in their story (imagine losing to a gorilla) like i don't know what else to add? shipping is what fuels fanfic but there is no substance only fanfic interpretation taking creative liberty unlike powerscaling,so powerscaling clears shipping no diff>>283332819>shippers or powerscalersi'm ignoring>>283334124figures

>>283335547This sums it up for me, shipping is annoying but there are series with romance so it makes sense to discuss couples. Power scaling has no relevance or basis in any battle series. Fans are wasting their time discussing shit the author never gave a damn about >bro, let me calculate the force of this punch. This means X can destroy Y
>>283335519I wonder if powerlevelfags have an ACK equivalent
>>283335596>Fans are wasting their time discussing shit the author never gave a damn aboutThis also applies to shippers, since 99% of them only discuss series where there is no romance
>>283332819Powerscalers, shipping has a pornography like taboo associated with it such that you wont find fics unless you're actively looking for them. Powerscaling isnt taboo, so it always pops up no matter the discussion to shit all over it.
>>283335659Anon, this isn’t 2012 anymore
>>283335621URK
>>283332819On paper, powerscaling is probably dumber when it gets to the level where it's less about narrative consistency (e.g. Superman getting his ass beat in hand-to-hand by some random in a street) and more about inflating imaginary numbers for the sake of jerking themselves sillyBut in practice shippers are utterly fucking insane and go outright ballistic whenever some ship they want doesn't happen; they will actively consume media they don't even like just because they think AND THEN DEY KISS AND WALK INTO DA SUNSET is the actual endgame of the story (every single other plot point be damned), and shipfaggot assblast has legitimately become the lasting legacy (more like giant scar) of several IPs - see also, Naruto and Bleach
>>283335596hobbies wastes time to my knowledge, be it shipping, powerscaling, writing.why does people discuss fictitious relationship it does not change what is written and it does not concern their own life.why does people analyze fictitious characters power it does not improve their own life nor make them capable to save the world or destroy the world.
You can see in real time shipvermin rushing to defend their degenerate and mentally ill practices and pretending they didn't ruin hundreds of threads for several anime and manga with their constant obsessive shipshit spamming in anime and manga with literally 0 romance.

Power scalers are more annoying on average with their stupid lingo and wasted time on bullshit calculations. However I can’t find any evidence of powerscalers sending death threats to creators like shippers.

>>283335596>there are series with romance so it makes sense to discuss couples. Power scaling has no relevance or basis in any battle seriesHuh, the battle series have fights and often a character will win because they're strongest or have powers. like shonen or isekai, isekai mc with high levuls > thug. That's the basis they extrapolate from.
>>283347637Bless ACK for providing evidence as for why shippers are cancer.
At least shipping stimulates creativity with fanfics and fanart, and this has made some people and even original IPs successful, like Fifty Shades of Grey author (it started as a Twilight fanfic) or Gintama. It's why fujobait is a thing. Meanwhile powerscaling is just empty autism that leads nowhere.
