What happened to the trend of hiring female voice actors for shounen protagonists? Are current voice actresses just shit to pull it off?

But even during the Big 3. Ichigo is voiced by a man and it still aged well. Meanwhile, Luffy sounds like shit now and Naruto's voice is laughably unfitting for his adult age

women can voice little boys without any problem. it's alright, but gets problematic when those characters age. that's when a new voice actor is supposed to come in buuuut.. you know.. seiyuu autism. that's how you get adult Naruto with completely unfitting voice. it will be most hilarious in Mushoku tensei as Rudy will be voiced by a woman even when he will be old man.
