Part 1 is a full story. Yes, it introduces things that could be expanded upon further, but it's unnecessary to do so because the entire story is told with its characters. We don't need to see War, Famine, or Death in part 1, we don't need to see Primal Devils beyond Darkness, we don't even need to know the names of the other hybrids or how Makima collected them.Part 2 exists because part 1 was really popular and it had a world with plenty of ideas that could be explored further. But as a story, even if it's a sequel, it tackles completely different themes and has a different tone and different inspirations. It might as well be called "A Story in the Chainsaw Man Universe: Featuring the Continuing Adventures of Denji". I haven't really gotten the impression that there will be a Part 3, but Fujimoto will do Fujimoto. There are further ideas he could tackle, like angels and just why the Fiends/Devils working for Makima were named after the angel hierarchy, the meaning of Denji's name being a corruption of Tenshi (Angel), and maybe even Denji in the future. But I haven't gotten the impression that it's something that needs talking about either.

what killed the hype
One thing I really appreciate the movie for doing was adding bits of original content that flesh out the character or give them additional moments. For example, when Denji runs into the phone booth to avoid the rain, they add a brief scene of him finding an old can of coffee in the booth being used as an ashtray, filled with old cigarettes. He picks it up and begins to presumably see what there is to drink from it before Reze runs in and he quickly puts it back before she notices what he was doing. It's such a Denji thing, and it's not like the inclusion of the scene resulted in anything else being removed, nor did it exist to prolong "canon" content like filler, nor did they need to fill a runtime like in a TV series where an extra scene might be added just so the episode ends at the same place a chapter ends. It's just there to add to the characterization, it elevates what it adapts.I stand by the assertion I made 5 years ago that the Chainsaw Man vs Weapon Human fights were the most boring parts of the final arc on a week to week basis, but that they would make for incredible animated content, and that felt like the main reason they were included (apart from it practically being mandatory in modern shounen as a form of conflict resolution). If they could adapt and extend those fights in animated form, I would appreciate them much more.

Just saw the movie and it was phenomenal. Everything I hoped the TV series was going to be. Denji riding Beam unironically got me emotional since it was so well done and its the sequence that got me interested in the series in the first place. Then the shot with the manga colors on Denji made the film perfect imo.
