I watched this shit high, it was really cool at first but about halfway through I was like "wait, this fight just keeps going on with no actual escalation of stakes. Why does the music tell me to get more hype, why should I expect this to be different than then last time, if both sides go at it with the same setup? Why should I expect this to be different?" It made me appreciate just how young denji is though, kinda peeled back the congitive dissonance of not thinking of anime characters as actual teenagers, and that added to the tension of it.

A 4-minute-long fight scene had super loud music the entire time, and after it cut to a very low volume music, the action was still super intense on screen.
Then the music ramped up and shit got crazier.
Nobody can stand 15 uniterrupted minutes of that kind of volume and music, but the execution of how to balance it with some quieter parts was pretty shitty.

I like my anime spoonfed so I didn't like Chainsaw Man. My poor eyes couldn't keep up with the sakuga and the yapping at the start was too confusing for my brain to handle. I couldn't relate to the characters so mah romance scenes were lost on me, just filler material, a waste of time.

The fuck? The entire movie and leading scenes had other visuals. I just said I did not like the look of a 5 second sequence that appears out of nowhere, 80 minutes into the movie just to mark the end of a fight. There were hundreds of ways to achieve that.
It's obvious what they tried to do (hence the ™) and it sucked. Execution wise, all the decorative elements had too much texture and the blood splatter had multilevel greens compared to the high contrast iconic cover you posted. So as a reference, it did not improve the original and used the style poorly.
