I see a lot of daily storytimes in the catalog for series that are hundreds of chapters long.Which is nice, but also quite a commitment. Maybe sometimes you want to read along with /a/ for just a short while. In this thread I'll be posting a few short stories and one-shots with breaks inbetween, for as long as the thread stays alive.Feel free to discuss anything manga-related, or maybe even to dump a story yourself if you want to share something you enjoyed.Previous thread if you want to read the stories: https://desuarchive.org/a/thread/283042646/
We begin with Dodoitsu, by Aguri Ohue.
The End~Would you eat mystery meat dumplings from a chinese back alley?
Bump before next story
>>283382305Pretty cute story, I was expecting a bad turn.>Would youFuck no
Hikikomori Headphone GirlBy Nobuaki Tadano

Next we have "Jiro dreams of..." I mean, "It was all for the Tuna".By Boichi.
>>283381637Kowloon, baby!
The End~Did you know that Jiro Ono turned 100 two days ago?
>>283382305This was a cute read.>>283387374This is such an amazing page, from an otherwise such a batshit insane/dumb story I can't help but laugh. I like one shots 'cause of their low commitment you can explore wilder concepts you'll never find in serialized manga. Thanks for the dumps OP.
One more story for now.Demons Harem by Sumiya Zeniko. This story may contain some yuri.
>>283383926eh, It was alright
The End~Made any deals with the devil lately?
>>283390212Thank you for posting, OP. Glad you're still doing this.
Moving on, here's a story from an author I don't particularly like.Laws of the Universe, by Tanaka Yuu.>>283392178>Glad you're still doing thisIt wouldn't be possible without (you)
>>283392898*Kuu, not Yuu
WHATWHAT HAPPENED?
Sorry about that
>>283381838What else did he expect?
>>283382125Are they supposed to be on the roofs?>>283382139This makes it look like they are at ground level, which wouldn't look like that.
>>283381637We need to bring Kowloon back.
>>283394777I get that it's a great aestehtic for a story setting, but do you really want to live in an ultradense chinese slum?
bump for reading
>>283381754It's him, officer! He ruined Kowloon
>>283396098It would be nice to have neighbors so close I could taste them while they sleep.
bump for anon reading
>>283385077>I'm bad at naming and remembering my characters' names
>>283386497Bluefin tuna's a fucking hole to go down. Also called kuro (black) makuro. How many aliases do these fucks have?
>>283386689What the fuck is going on?!
>>283382305Sounds comfy. I'd eat anything, even one of the locals if I could subdue one.
>>283383442she's dead
>>283383568Goddamn wild houdinis around here
>>283383788>>283383818Videodrome type shit.
>>283385077>>283385100Tanlines are God's gift to man.
>>283396098From my cursory knowledge of the problem, Kowloon being an ultradense building and being a slum were actually unrelated issues. It was essentially a lawless land, and so the usual shit happened. But, strictly speaking, this was not integral to its existence, it was just a historical accident. It's entirely possible to have a Kowloon that is perhaps, merely somewhat shabby at worst.
>>283386421Creepy fucking kid
>>283386927Just some good old fashioned absurdism. I've read this before but have no fucking clue where it would've been. Probably here. Also, that's a fucking Watchmen looking "Tuna" there.
Drug it!By Akima.
The End~You don't do drugs, right?
>>283404306>ThosrNo idea how I ended up accidently namefagging
>>283404358Now ya lost me
>>283404834Sankyuu, OP!
>>283404834Thanks for dumping, but drugs ? No, that would be illegal, I wouldn't break the law, no sir.
Here's a story. It's a prequel to BLAME! but I think it works as a standalone if you haven't already read BLAME!.Then again if you haven't, what are you waiting for.
NetSphere Engineer, by Tsutomu Nihei.
>Error: File too large
>>283386943Magu-chan?
>>283387557Pretty fun. Good absurdity.
The End~Looks like we're getting close to the image limit.
>>283409962Impressive. Should draw some eyeballs.
bampu for reading

>>283389360Toxic Yuri is Best Yuri
>>283389527The alpha bitch has arrived.
>>283409834That's a lot of headshots.
>>283389710>lustful but inexperiencedLiterally me.
>>283390049She got off on the choking.
>>283393103I think driving into the sun would still work.
>>283387948The whole Tuna one shot feels like it repeatedly lampoons self serious stories. It's constantly having characters talk or act as if their gravitas and sentimentality is any way supported by the rest of the story and not coming wildly out of nowhere at the drop of a pin.
>>283418567You're right, it does kinda feel like that.
>>283404380>>283404400The cityscapes are nice.
A little longer.
>>283409449Is she kill?
C'mon!

Forgot the titleMy First Planet, by Takahashi Hirona
The End~Did you know that all bad things in life are caused by witches?
>>283426631Which witches
Nice thread OP, thanks for posting.>>283385100Never get tired of this trope of characters blatantly peeking through their fingers when they're supposed to be covering their eyes.>>283426499>Dumps a can of "Spring" on the EarthSo she's the bastard giving me hay fever each year!
>>283381637Thanks anon, I've been meaning to read more one shots, so I'll definitely read this.
Last one before we hit image limit, with a topical title.>>283428660In that case be sure to check out the previous threads in the archives
End of the thread, by Matsumoto Michiyo.First published in Garo magazine 1982-06.For those who don't know, Garo was a manga magazine that started in the 60s and was a starting point for many alternative / avantgarde / counterculture artists.Sometimes the stories are great, sometimes it's pretentious artsy garbage, but I always find it interesting because it's not something you find in serialized manga nowadays.Maybe one of these days I'll make a thread with only Garo stories.
The End~Well that's it from me, thanks to everyone for joining in and keeping the thread alive.Be careful out there, I hear there are skeletons prowling around...
>>283429462Snoopy, no
>>283429553I think I fucked with the settings somehow last year and now I can never see skeletons again...
