I think the main thing this series lacked is that it doesn't seem to have any fights that reached legendary status in the anime/manga community like the other shonen greats had

That's fair, but it's because it really was a monster of the week situation where the big bad was a schemer and not an actual fighter powerhouse, he kept hiding, fleeing and manipulating from far away.
Also, being more grounded in scope, with classic folklore as the main basis for characters and enemies is neat in its own way

A lot of those inbetween episodes are good but I think not many viewers made it to the final seasons

I always skipped this series even tho I was obsessed with DMC and I could see the whole demon brothers thing but I always disliked it despite liking Sailor and Sakura,I also get the same feeling with the FMA series
