Oh, did the dumper plan for the dump to end on Halloween? Pretty cool if so, or a neat coincidence if not. I somewhat regret not following it every day, but I'll get around to reading the rest of Ito one day.
>>283458253It ended just before, and that's thanks to the 4chan hack, really.
>>283457938My thanks and kisses, brother.
>>283456332Currently reading Shibito no Koe wo Kiku ga Yoi because the MCs are cute
Junji Ito has never written or drawn anything that's scary.
>>283459393It made me feel other things ngtl
>>283459465Like?
>>283460362LUST
>>283458819>Shibito no Koe wo Kiku ga YoiThis got some decent scares, but most of the time it's just too cute and funny for my tasteLike, ghosts are supposed to make me scared, not make me go uoh
>>283458279dump anon anticipated the hack
>>283460695wew
>>283448927Did the Daily really end on Halloween?>>283460695based
>>283461173Maybe he was behind it
>>283459393That's because he's a comedy mangaka.
>>283458819Class prez is best
>>283448927I'm not sure I understand what people mean when they call Junji Ito a hack? Do people even know what hack means anymore or has it just become another buzzword?
>>283463141I think they usually just mean that they think he's overrated.
rape
>>283463591statutory to be more specific
lmao
>>283458819>>283461928I only just noticed yesterday that an extra oneshot got uploaded 3 years ago. It even includes the prez
>>283463303So it is a buzzword
>>283458819>>283464036I don't like horror where 90% of the gore is on males
>>283466016Basically.
>>283463745Appropriately cursed.
So it goes.
Would it be onerous to ask for a list of the stories that were posted? I was only able to keep up with the threads for a few months and I'd like to find and read the rest myself at some point.
>>283466319you're in luck then! a cute JK got stabbed to pieces and a cute school nurse disemboweled herself in the very 1st chapter
>>283471090just google 'Junji Ito bibliography'.
>>283471664I read the first chapter. It gave me false expectations for the rest of the manga.

>>283472776just like /a/!

>>283474584Just the three?
Has anyone ever been gaslighted about a Junji Ito story because you read them a long time ago.Got some dude on /v/ convince me " Army of one" was caused by a song on radio, it wasn't
>>283478309There was a radio program in the story, eight?
>>283478309I've had people trying to gaslight me about there being a Junji Ito story called "Army of One", even though the story is actually called "Billions Alone".
>>283479189Yeah but reread it, I only see the girl sing it when she killed her parents at the end, there are no mention of it at the other crime scenes, the main character even hear it from the radio but nothing happen to him.
>>283479204It was originnally a bonus story of Hellstar Reminaand was called Army of One". When it was collected in other collection, it was changed to Billions Alone
>>283479204>>283479874I'm pretty sure it's just the difference in title from the scanlation to Viz's version
>>283478309>>283479204https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZFagNgctPAit is called Army of One and I refuse to acknowledge any other name. it also has a sick song, and it's cooler than Billions alone.
>>283460695Understandable.
What's your favorite stories anons? Mine is Black paradox, Splatter, and Hellstar Remina.I think the honey tree was an amazing idea, I wish the tribe explained how you can drink the honey without it noticing.
>>283479874>>283480138My point was that "Army of One" has no bearing on the original Japanese, it's pure fan creation by the translator. Calling it 'The Stitchy-itchy Curse' would be just as accurate and make as much sense as calling it 'Army of One'.
>>283481806>The Stitchy-itchy CurseI'd read.
>>283481806no
>>283478309As time passes there's gonna be more of those stories based on people just making stuff up.
>>283480564I'm a basic bitch, Uzumaki is just good all the way through.
>>283480564>I think the honey tree was an amazing idea, I wish the tribe explained how you can drink the honey without it noticing. You distract it with stupid gaijin.
>>283480564>I wish the tribe explained how you can drink the honey without it noticing. That would go against the point of the story. You can't intuit how the tree notices you just like a mosquito can't intuit how the human notices him sucking blood. It is beyond us.
>>283484526that would be true if there wasn't a tribe of people who consume the honey on the regular. I guess >>283483919 may be too, if there are too many people drinking it, there's lesser chance of you getting smacked by the tree through sheer probability.
>>283485527The tribe also gets smacked, there's tons of splatted corpses around and on the tree.
>>283480564I am a fellow black paradox chad. It captured that "dream logic" feeling better than any other story I've read. By dream logic I mean how in a dream you can be walking down the street one minute and then on a pirate ship the next and your brain just fills in the gaps so it makes sense at the time but when you wake up you're like wtf was that about. Don't get me wrong I like his one-shots too but I think it's commonly accepted that endings aren't Ito's forte. You have some of his stories which knock it out the park like The Long Dream and then you have stories like pic related (a story I also love) which don't even try. I'm not asking for everything to be wrapped up neatly, just something better than "and then I fainted".
What was everyone's favorite story from the Ito storytime?
>>283487957There are a lot, my favorite is Deserted. But this one is very good too.
>>283480564>I think the honey tree was an amazing idea, I wish the tribe explained how you can drink the honey without it noticing.the honey is also addictive and basically kills you by making everything else taste bad.Since the tribe considers the tree a god, it must be reserved for priests or religious sacrifices.I really liked the way Ito leaves clues about the tribe and the honey so that the reader can then make their own conjectures.
>>283487957I can't answer that. Too many good ones.
>>283464036Wow nice, thanks for the heads up anon
>>283448927>crtl + 4What?
>>283493732I just switched to my 4th tab.
>>283480564Splatter, Sensor, and Uzumaki.
