This thing and noaka just totally ruins the story. Rated 4/5 but it's about half that. How hard would it be to just keep it a redemption/romance story without the extra bullshit? But muh realism doesn't work because if you really made the story like that then the characters would be ugly and never meet up again like this. One of them would have successfully suicided. It's just selectively injecting the worse shit from real life while pretending it's super deep instead of annoying and distracting. What a waste of ink/data/money etc.

Nothing was achieved by this film's existence except becoming the biggest virtue larp magnet of all time. I hear the manga is better, it gives the deaf girl more of a character arc and personality compared to the movie.
