I often think about this show and it makes me cry and I weep hard. Dear Nomad, please bring Rozen Maiden back, okay? It's too good to be left in obscurity
Its emotional impact? Dude, it's OVERWHELMING
>>283474025Care to elaborate?
>>283474255not really
What?
>>283473859Yes, anon, it turned me into an emotional wreck too
dear nomad employees. please continue show
>>283475862I was so desu I did not recognize the desu burning in her eyes
>>283473859I'm really set aback by Suiseiseki's beauty. Say, Suiseiseki, how can you be so beautiful?
>>283477362You and me both buddy
>>283475862moar suiseiseki images...
while watching it I got a weird feeling of comfiness, as if I was sitting in front of the fireplace while it's snowing outside, hot chocolate and the anime being played on the tv
>>283479421Yah, that's an accurate description of what I felt, thank you so much for outlining it, you absolutely nailed the atmosphere and the feel of it. And that's in part what also makes it more painful to reach the end of season too and realize there's no closure or continuation, it stings
>>283473859Suigintou deserved better, desu.
>>283479496i didn't finish the anime... sorry anon...i dont even know if i watched the "canon" one as I've learned there are 2 different versions
>>283479632she's cute, isn't she
>>283479809oh noes.... how come you never finished it
>>283481593learning that there are 2 different versions made me wonder if what i was watching was even the "right" onei left it at the episode where future jun from the world where he didn't rewind got tied up by kirakishou and forced to lick her finger or something like thati would watch a slice of life/comedy version of rozen maiden desu
>>283481958>2 different versionsWhat? There is the first season and Rozen Maiden: Träumend. Did it get a reboot or something? >future junWhat?!
>>283482040im not sure myselfat some point the program i use to watch anime doesn't list any more episodes and there is another rozen maiden which starts the same but has all these different things
>>283482133It sounds like you were watching Rozen Maiden: Zurückspulen which came out 2012. It's from the second manga so you skipped ahead by a lot. The OP should give you a clue which one you're watching.
>>283482204so did i miss a season of the first "version" or something?the differences are pretty drastic too so i doubt the 2 "versions" i watched are even connectedthe err.. situations surrounding suigintou and souseiseki are completely different, also the way jun meets suiseiseki iirc (i dont know if you know what i'm talking about, i dont want to spoil it if you dont)
>>283482357There'sRozen MaidenRozen Maiden TräumendRozen Maiden OuvertüreRozen Maiden Zurückspulenyou should watch them in that order.
>>283482454i just watched a few seconds of a couple episodes of traumend and i definitely did not watch thismight as well start watching it all from the beginningthanks for putting them in order
>i would watch a slice of life/comedy version of rozen maiden desuOh God, yes, I'd absolutely love that... Especially if there were like eighty episodes of that and it got proper closure and everyone was happy and there were no cliffhangers. Both the serious drama bits and the slice of life bits in Nomad's version of Rozen Maiden were insanely good I'm glad you loved it too it makes me happy
>>283482626>>283482454>>283482357Yes, that list is correct, but to further explain it all, there's no "proper" version, it's just that studio Nomad first made the anime back in 2005 and there's season one which is just that, Rozen Maiden, then Nomad made season two which got its own name, Traumend, then instead of continuing it all and offering people closure unfortunately they only put two additional episodes out eventually which were titled Overture and were a prequel. And then it all ended which is a disaster and an absolute catastrophe that I'm appalled and distraught by.And then in 2012 or 2013 Deen made Rozen Maiden and it was called Zuruckspulen but it's essentially a different spin on the same events that Nomad told through their anime, so not a direct continuation
>>283482652i do believe we're sitting on a goldminerozen maiden seems to have sold pretty well (as far as wikipedia says) so something like that would probably be loved by most>>283482826now this is great info, although im saddened to see that there is no closurealso now that i think about it i believe the future alternative jun was from the manga, but im not so sure
>>283483274Exactly, it is a gold mine, I agree. The problem is that it's been twenty years since the original anime and (I think) over a decade since the manga itself concluded and it's so hard to stay hopeful about this because times have changed so much since 2005. Those times feel warm, cozy and nostalgic and it's hard to re-live and re-experience what we had back then. However, on the other hand, there's all these anniversary edition news and meet ups and special editions being released it's a bit easier to have hope. I dunno dude it gets tough at times especially when you rewatch Traumend and hear that beautiful ending theme for the last time, knowing there's no next episode for you to watch and you're left alone, unable to see all the dolls living their lives happily again, playing house and joking around. Both the opening end ending theme songs are very beautiful by the way
A list of Suigintos favorite songs of all time.
>>283473859You should not wish for a remake of the things you love. People who made them are long gone and instead of rejuvenating your happiness you will get all the joyous guts ripped out of you, run through the slop grinder and put on top of your head like a fucking clown wig. Don't ask for more of the good thing savor that you got to experience it.
Well, not a remake per se
You guys do realize Rozen Maiden is a manga first and foremost, right?Nomad only adapted it into an anime before it was completed, so the first and second seasons (as well as the Ouverture OVA) are semi-original. The characters actually change a lot because of this, and one of the Maidens don't exist at all, that goes both ways as the manga Kirakishou doesn't exist in the anime, and the anime Barasuishou was a Nomad original.Deen's adaptation contains a rushed explanation of the manga's remaining events which were not adapted by Nomad's first adaptation, as otherwise Nomad actually did a faithful job at adapting the first few manga chapters (not including the changed backstory for the characters) along with making it in my opinion somewhat better as the Candy War in the staircase happened throughout a whole episode in the anime if I remember correctly, whereas that was only a brief chapter that didn't take too long. I think episodes like that are remembered most fondly by the people that do still talk about Rozen Maiden now, and Nomad's second season is way more comfy to watch than the events that unfolded in the manga during the roughly same time periodIt's unlikely you'll ever get a true continuation of the Nomad anime because well, I doubt they even planned to get a second season in the first place (I see Suigintou's return as the main proof of this)But if you do want to see the story end then just read the manga, it's ended years ago and even has a spin-off centered around Suiseiseki
>>283485147>>283487460And I'm not denying the fact that manga is the source material and the original work and therefore everything should be based on it. Nor do I claim that I or others shouldn't read the manga. I've said this before and I'll say it again, as much as I do accept that Nomad took liberties when adapting the manga into an anime and as much as I realize that manga offers closure, I also believe it's not that hard to agree with me on the fact that people inherently get used to things they experience first or things they're exposed to for too long, especially if said works of art are good. Yeah, sure, the anime wasn't as accurate and true to the original narrative as it could have been, but you gotta get the following two facts, 1) it still had great writing, animation, style, atmosphere soundtrack and voice acting in its own right and was a quality show overall 2) even with the deviation and the liberties, its core and essence was still undeniably nothing but Rozen Maiden, not 100% accurate per the manga, but still it was Rozen Maiden and not a different work of art. Therefore, what I'm asking of you is to also accept that you can't just have someone enjoy two entire seasons of such a beautiful, touching and captivating show with its own unique style, feel and immersive atmosphere and then, once Traumend ends abruptly and offers no closure, tell that person to "just read the manga" which belongs to a completely different medium and doesn't feel the same at all. Especially, again, considering that people get used to the stuff they like and forcing them into something so different without offering proper closure (which Nomad never did) is hard for said people, it's really painful because you're craving the stuff you got accustomed to
>>283487460>>283485147>>283483274I'll be hanging around, don't worry, we'll meet in another Rozen Maiden thread soon

there's so much to say about Rozen Maiden
