Before they went to see it, makima said that there is one movie she saw that changed her. That interaction could serve as checkov's gun for denji, as the movie explores themes of reunion where soldier comes back from war and starts to put needs of others ahead of his own. These needs being:>power's need for comfort after darkness devil encounter>nayuta's need for a family>and possibly Reze's yearn for country mouse life style which is in direct opposition to denji's world view of a town mouse. Knowing how fujimoto likes to forget about characters, even alive ones - she is not coming back however seeing where part 2 is going, it is very likely Denji is about to experiance yet another traumatic event and at that point I believe he will need someone who he already developed feelings for, rather than meeting yet another cast of expandable characters. I think both denji and audience need some returning faces for part 3

I don't even remember if revived Reze acknowledged Denji presence or if he reacted to her either.So, then Makima died and they just continued alive but without being controlled?The way I see it that whole sad ending in her arc gets kinda destroyed by the fact Reze didn't really died and even more because she never tried to look for Denji after that whole mess with Makima.At most we can assume she saw Denji trying to rebuild his life and decided to fuck off somewhere else.

Not only he brought her back to life during control devil arc but also he reduced her to a pawn without giving us as much as a glance from denjiBut on other hand it could just be his way of acknowleding reze's powers that pretty much grant her immortality while still keeping her dead for the plot going forward while further establishing makima as all powerful, soulles being who will force denji to fight people he cares about if it brings her cloaser to her goalsAll i know is that only way for me to care about part 3 is if he brings her back, i've been annoyed with part 2 too much to care about the sequel if it's going to be yet another bullshit plot of building denji back up to screw with him. Denji has trouble giving a shit about most characters and after she abandoned him (in his mind at least) she just became another face he quickly forgot about. Past her arc Reze was only brought up twice iirc; the first time he instantly forgets her once Makima arrives and the second was in the world created by the aging devil.
