I feel like they should've adapted the novel through a manga first, and then let the anime adapt from the manga. A lot of stuff that could've added a bit more flavor and help smooth things out got lost, since it feels like the director didn't know which stuff to keep from the novel and which stuff to change.
It's minor, but even in Takasugi's debut episode, the reporter was Ketsuno Ana while in the novel and manga, it was Hanano Ana. likewise, they made the ghost in last week's episode cuter rather than completely ugly.

The site going down actually had very little impact on site traffic. It is declining, but it was already declining well before the hack. It only took like a week to get back to pre-hack traffic, it's just that traffic was already lower than it was a year earlier, and declining.
Unfortunately 4stat's charts are offline right now, but I remember going over this data back then.

Anyway - they're still making fucking Gintama shows? I used to watch that shit years and years ago, but it just kept going on and on and I stopped keeping up. Crazy that it's still going. Is it worth picking up and watching the movies and shit? I must have stopped somewhere in the middle of the original run.

The episode where Kagura's family comes back to help fight Utsuro is definitely the worst looking episode in the entire series. Honestly I don't like how they fast forwarded a bunch of the final few chapters in the dragon ball recap too.
