I'll be honest, while I personally enjoy the Ranma and Akane aspect of Ramna 1/2, I find a lot of the arguments in this thread for Akane as a character and romantic partners incredibly stupid. I really wish we could get past this. I wish Shampoo fans didn't have such disdain for Rumiko Takahashi's writing and I wish Akane fans didn't exaggerate Shampoo's awfulness. Even Rumiko genuinely likes Shampoo.
