Web comic that blew up in popularity thus it got a manga. The web comic is darker themes then the manga and the manga started to drift away from that darker theme in the current anime season. This PISSED fans off. Then it got worse as we enter the following arc, characters that should know each other and or respect each other don't know each other or respect each other throwing fans off again pissing them off so much so that the last few manga chapters had to be completely redone. This is just the manga drama mind you, the anime drama is there because OPM S1 was a 9/10 to 10/10 then OPM S2 went down to like a 5/10 pissing fans off and now we have OPM S3 which is S2 quality once again a 5/10

I didn't care for the manga, but I honestly think this anime could have been one of the most popular of all time if the dance scenes weren't 3d. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I think even if the scenes were rotoscoped, attractive anime characters dancing to chill music would do extremely well on short-form video sites if it just didn't look terrible. I think that would have lead to it being extremely popular with young people.
