It's such a good soap opera. It has the same charm as those low-budget Lifetime TV movies you see your mom watching. The sometimes awkward deliveries by the B-grade dub actors also help too.

When Banri called out Linda's bullshit, he went overboard with drinking and his tone was a lot edgier than in the anime. Not to mention the manga and LN made it more obvious Banri wanted to commit suicide afterwards. But at least Kouko's confession in the Manga/LN felt more sincere.The anime toned down and censored a lot of shit that could be considered problematic.
