The ending of Brunhildr felt to me like the author had just finished a world-changing arc, setting up a major plot point for the next volume or even book series, and the editors instead had him finish the series in the last two pages.

If you didnt realize by ep48, one of the themes of the show is the ever changing nature of life, there are no happy or bad ends because there are no fiction "tightly knit" endings.

Where even in the normal days episodes there's a lot of family drama and things going on. It's not about daily antics it's about the sisters figuring how to get by, dealing the burden and responsibility they have now and a lot of problems that can't be stomped on. People either want to use them or want them gone, their family is broken as shit and even when things do work out they don't in a way they really hoped. It's drama.

The ending was a critique on how people handle difficult decisions.They need to go to war eventually but they don't want it to happen while they're still around so they chose to delay it and leave the burden of war to future generations even if it meant things might be worse in the future.
