I'm honestly scared of rewatching ergo proxy because i was all over it when i saw it as a teen. I was obsessed with it to the point of it occupying all my thought processes rent free for several months. Now when i have seen other people's opinions on it, not counting fanboys and hatefags, people mostly say that this is nothing but a stream of philosophy references. I'm not a philosophy fag and overall a 60 iq cro-magnon, so wil i hate it? I had a lot of cases of rewatching/rereading something i liked as a kid and thinking that it's next to unbearable as an adult, so I want to preserve a good image of this anime in my head even if it requires me to be delusional about it. That said, how good are my chances of actually liking it again? What's your experience with it? And ergo proxy thread, i suppose.

I rewatched it last year, I wanted to watch first episodes I barely remembered, and it ended up in a marathon. It was great, like really great.
Yeah, maybe references to philosophers don't strike you as a teen but it has a phenomenal direction
