I don't recall ever experiencing this. I guess my taste just isn't total trash. It's also almost always people using examples of series from WSJ that talk like this too. Like not even just battle shonen or the wider shonen demographic, just a single magazine.

Berserk, 20th/21st Century Boys, Hajime no Ippo, To Your Eternity, Pokemon Special, Soul Eater, Noragami, and so forth. The people who didn't simply drop the story once it started getting worse are the majority of the existing fanbase by the end, making any fan-centric discussions overrun by the remaining fans who insist the story is as good as it used to be. Go outside the bubble and people will easily admit things like CSM Part 1 was way better than Part 2 or that Boruto is actually complete shit compared to Naruto.

I'm 26 so i haven't seen everything but I did see a fair share of what's out there. It just had that aesthetics, themes, humor, drama and mystery and it managed to achieve in 11 volumes what others can't in 20-30. And the ending - it had a perfect fucking endning. Everything that audience cared for has been brought to a satisfying conclusion but nahh - jews got to him and he shat out part 2. Things that could be left to an interpretation such as happy family life with nayuta and reunion with power and reze - they all went to shit and for what? for conflicts that don't hit nearly as hard.If I had to compare CSM to anything, it would be heroin. First hit feels amazing and you are instnatly hooked, but it's all downhill from there
