I think I like the anime more than the manga, that bored me in the first few chapters, this is more lively.
Also the main retard is interesting. Annoying, but its satisfying seeing her stumble, die, or alike. There's something fresh about her.

I like the anime but it does not come close to adapting some of the best parts of the manga. An anime would need multiple seasons to really capture the carefully crafted non linear timeline. I also don't think the anime managed to get that lived in feeling the manga has since Shaft tends to like doing oddly empty settings.

It's a bit of a spoiler I suppose but it's not a big deal to know beforehand. It's not obvious in the beginning since you don't have a frame of reference but it starts becoming more apparent after a while. Ishiguro loves complicating things in the best way.

It's just the author's gimmick, the chapters are NOT in chronological order, at least not all of them. Some stuff that happens early in the manga actually takes place near the end. There are chapters with references to stuff that already happened but whose chapter still hasn't been reached. It's nothing major though.

It's been an interesting year for Soremachi. The 20th anniversary, the pop up shop, /a/ Q&A, and Koreans discovering the manga. An unusual amount of activity.
