1st ? Its because Hanayama knew of Yujiro being the ultimate powerful ruthless legendary fighter. At the time, Hanayama was looking for Glory, being an undisputed fighting machine. It isnt til his fight with Ketchup Katsu chicken where hes punched at the spine and has his transcendental communion with the spirit of Hinomi, told that his quest for glory is selfish and vain and his true enemy is himself.
The Maximum tournament anime old school series was phenomenal but Hanayama Vs Katsume was one of the top fights. Seeing Yujiro completely focused on the fight, not bored not commenting not even "heh you weaklings ill eat you both". Yuijiro was really watching, possibly mainly Hanayama, like they were on Bakis level of importance.Even Hanayama at the end didnt get lectured or commented on by Yujiro, like he was at an understanding of the importance of a fighters spiritual journey and was happy for Hanayama
