Anime needs more shows like this.

lazy template threads is exactly what I'd expect from someone who wishes they were smart
>>283659735?
>>283659293Good news, a lot of anime can be really deep if you think about it superficially enough.
>another bait thread made by browns
>>283659293I don't know the others, but leave Haibane out of this, it's a good anime
>>283659293There's plenty of them if you venture out of shonen and shojo and into adult anime (seinen and josei)
>>283660439yeah, it's not like romance anime where it has to be set in school because schoolgirls are way hotter than adults
>>283659293It was a thing from the mid 90s to the mid 2000s. Good times, but we're never going back to those days.
>>283660439I hate shonen lol so that one doesn't apply to me. While there's still adult anime being made I find it this excuse pretty dishonest, are we really gonna pretend there hasn't been a change in the industry? Sure, these shows might always have been the minority but I don't deliberately seek out shows from the 90s and 2000s, yet the vast majority of anime I end up watching has been made back then. "Adult" anime now usually means isekai.
>>283660505Have you seen a real life schoolgirl recently? They do NOT have to draw them like that, that is a choice.
>>283659293Paranoia Agent is just loli gets her first woman moment and her dog gets run over
>>283660439Not OP but no there isn't plenty of them. This is all the shows tagged "Seinen" this season and only like 2 of them are watchable.
>>283661189How tf is the horse racing one seinen?
Boogiepop Phantom isn't deep, people just didn't know the setting and characters to understand what was happening. The presentation is neat but that doesn't mean it required extended theorising to make sense of if you had context.
>>283661286I don't know if it is or not, but why would professional horse racing *not* be aimed at the seinen demographic? Both the activity and the game itself are surely fully funded by mainly adult males.
>>283662007Well, yeah I guess that's true but I found it juvenile I suppose.
>>283659293Problem with some of those is not that they are "deep", but actually badly directed and pretentious.
>>283663073>pretentious means taking itself seriouslyKill all irony poisoned zoomgers
>>283661597This. As someone who's actually read the original novel it's a sequel to, the story is pretty straightforward. People just mistake it as being intentionally obtuse because the show relies so heavily on you already being familiar with the franchise. It's sorta the equivalent of trying to watch the Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel movies with absolutely zero knowledge of the Fate franchise beforehand. They just assume you know the characters and general premise going in, so they don't explain shit.
>>283663073Yet you didn't explain why those are supposed to be pretentious, because they aren't.
>>283659293There are already plenty if you're willing to explore instead of begging for spoonfeeds
