He is also seen shadowing his Cheese Princess and listening to her conversation with Aridellia so he has surprising good stealth despite his looks. He's decked in full armor but he can still sneak on someone with ears that big? Impressive.Since he's a naturally untalkative person it makes sense that he's a solo adventurer that hunts his own food, repairs his own equipment and proceeds stealthily by himself. The Cheese Princess is useless at everything so they countered that by pairing her with the guy that can do everything.
