Bad isekai's main problem is that there is no real sense of wonder; in bad isekai the main character doesn't care that he is in a fantastical world filled with impossible creatures, all he cares is larping his videogame or fucking sluts. A good isekai makes the setting important to the story, because otherwise why the fuck it's even isekai instead of just harem/battle harem?

In the rational fiction you may have the city the priests are in being known for fried meat, because it is a center for oil trade lowering oil prices, and byproduct of seed oils are plant fiber 'cakes' used as animal feed that no human wants to eat. As where in other stories you will likely see fire roasted food being common in the city because it's a city where people worship fire.
