"The Mysterious Manga Up for Sale at a High Price"Fake Documentary Q is a YouTube channel that makes horror mockumentary-style videos. They often have a twist both in the story, and in the background, needing you to pay attention and rewatch the videos to catch it.They've recently started a new project, "Q: Contact Us If You Recognize This Manga". Each chapter will feature a new "real" manga with a mystery attached.This is the third chapter.
First editions, out-of-print volumes, scarcely-printed books.There is a variety of manga sold at high prices.But recently, a manga has been put up with a price tag of 2 million yen.Even more surprising than the price tag is the "rumor" attached to it---"Any who read this manga will be cursed."[Atsushi's Bucket List]It is an unpublished manuscript with no copies or reproductions, the only one in the world.
The author was, at the time, an aspirant mangaka in his twenties.*Photograph of the author, taken around 2014.He drafted up 4 different one-shots in the past,We were able to confirm each was submitted to multiple publishing companies,but of the editors who handled his submissions, no less than 11 met withfatal accidentsdeath from illnessgrave injuriescomasloss of loved ones"disaster" one after the other, allegedly.
The rumor that "his works cursed the reader" gradually spread throughout the industry,eventually leading to a restricted response to the author's submissions and awards.The four submitted manuscriptswere collected by the superiors, colleagues, and families of the victimized editorsand all disposed of in a bonfire on a Buddhist temple.However,the manga tagged at a high price in question---a 32-page one-shot manuscript,is said to be the elusive 5th mangathat escaped disposal due to never being submitted anywhere.

As if pleading to the viewer.Even the passersby in the background.This uncanny presentation where every single character maintains eye contact with the viewer---Was this attributethat brought misfortune to those 11 editors?
Did the author intend to imbue his manga with "something" from the outset when he submitted it to the publishers?There's just one issue--- one can infer from the author's definitive drawing ability he earnestly aspired to become a mangaka.It's simply impossible to say he drew with ill will as his motive.
