13 chapters in. I'm finding Modulo very interesting now because of how many angles it's tackling. It's an allegory for immigration conflicts for sure, but it also looks like it's trying to resolve some subplots of the earlier manga. Yuji's unique biology. The cursed spirits. And the Earth's attempt to control and regulate cursed energy itself. That weird little mini arc with Kenjaku in America is starting to bear fruit. It doesn't feel qujite so pointless anymore when the world being self-aware of Jujutsu and cursed energy is important for the sequel.If Modulo wraps all this up, I think the original manga will look better for it.

This whole sequel was a mistake, and so was prequel.I was actually enjoying the alien lore and wish Gege just committed to a sci-fi fantasy series instead of piggybacking off of JJK. Yuka and Tsurugi are boring because they’re just genderbent Yuta and Maki. It feels stupid to also make them the protags when now we’re going in the direction of desperately needing Yuji to come back and wipe everyone’s asses for them. And to know that Yuji’s existence after all he went through in JJK just continued to be miserable for decades is super fucking depressing. Just like Yuji, I want Gege to let JJK fucking die.
