Am I retarded? I could not tell heads or tails of what was going on in this movie.Not only the plot, but the world and characters. I didn't understand their motivation, what they wanted, their relationships with each other. I swear I paid attention, but it's like you have to read the book. I didn't have this problem with other Miyazaki movies.

Which isn't to say that I didn't like Nadia, it was just not as strong as a whole. I would have preferred if it had retained the more Jules Verne-esque tone throughout.Cagliostro is great, too. I wish instead of wasting time with that it had stayed focused on Sophie and Howl's issues. Because there's so much going on the final 3rd of the film is a rushed mess that brings the whole thing down.
