Longer haired Chi is even cuter.

Reiwa dad just can't compete.

That's all for this week. The next chapter will be on December 11th.
Be sure to support the manga by reading on Manga+ and/or buying the volumes (volume 3 comes out next week).

What the FUCK is happening?

A flashback. Seemingly leading to a human sacrifice for a better harvest.
Or in other words, more proof that Chika did nothing wrong.

It makes sense for him to see it that way as a kid, but often back then selling one's children was really a desperate strategy to keep them alive. Slavers and pimps had money and a vested interest in keeping their wares alive.

Turns out Ryota was the real ghost all this time.

Shotas with shoulder length hair are underrated. They still look boyish, but the longer hair is more fun to ruffle and makes them look fluffy.

Thanks. This is too sad for me.

Her furtiveness and wording make me think otherwise. She outright asks how much she'll get for them, which illustrates her priorities. People in feudal Japan did sometimes sell their children or even themselves in exchange for the promise of food and shelter for the slave. An arrangement like that would be something you'd be willing to explain to your children. She's acting more like she's going to sell them as chattel that will be worked to death in a mine in India. In fact, given the type of slavers she appears to be dealing with, they'd probably kill Chika as soon as they realized how weak he was so they wouldn't have to feed him.

This was way more interesting when we knew nothing

Ryota's parents were able to see him just fine but not Chi. I'm pretty sure it's reincarnation. Although maybe Ryota is trapped reincarnating as himself over and over because of the brother killing incident.

Peasant Ryota a cute.

Reincarnation shenanigans. Or in other words; Ryota and Chika are the Replaced from Dark Gathering and need Yayoi correction.
>>
>>284076537
I wonder if Hayato is also the reincarnation of someone from the same period. Chika has always been weirdly tolerant of him despite his hostile intentions.

yuo

They're both super cute. When all this is over and they become a happy family again (which will definitely happen) they should both grow their hair out. Hayato too.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSTO!

Mercy killed his little brother so he wouldn't slowly starve to death
>>

Wasn't there an audience in the flashbacks? It looked like a ritual.

Thank you for posting, OP.

Not really

I don't think going this long without learning anything would be very interesting. And the mystery of what Chi is lead right in to the mystery of why he is haunting Ryota/the town.
