Everyone blames the rapper for killing the show but at least Koumei (you know the fun part of the show) was still involved then. It was fine. It's the arc right after that about Nanami where Koumei is barely fucking in it that the show died.

For example, episode 2 was perfect. Koumei arranges a meeting with a popular singer and wins an opportunity for Eiko. They try to exploit each other, but Koumei comes out on top with his stratagem. It was engaging to watch, and really felt like they made progress towards their goal. I wanted to see more of that.Even if new characters were going to be introduced they didn't immediately need an entire arc for their backstories.
