> ignores his bros' warnings>charges solo into the enemy HQ like a dumbass>gets himself killed for nothing>wastes 2 fighters for absolutely zero payoff>his “heroic struggle” contributes jackshit to Joseph vs. Wamuu>“b-but the headband…”>pure cope. Literally any piece of cloth could’ve done the exact same job.How the hell is this not considered one of the dumbest, most pointless deaths in shounen history?Yet people talk about it like it’s some masterpiece of tragic writing.Everyone loves calling Ace or Gojo’s deaths “the stupidest Ls ever,” but honestly?Caesar’s death is miles below that. The only reason it gets praised is because it’s JoJo, and that’s it.
>>284087800Tbh part 2 is overrated. Most beautiful artstyle part but story is mid.
>>284087800Joseph not using the cure immediately makes his sacrifice worthless, plus him and Cesar’s bonding was all off paneled. Shiza and his dynamic with Joseph had potential but Araki was still raw when it came to writing side characters. Part 1 has the same issue where none of the side character deaths leave any sort of emotional impact. Funny enough, Stroheim had a better "bro" dynamic with Joseph
>>284087800if everyone acted logically then life and the world would be a very boring place
>>284087860Araki only really learned how to make side characters truly contribute to the team starting in Part 3.Compared to the earlier parts, Stardust Crusaders greatly improved the treatment of side characters, Polnareff or Kakyoin could actually defeat strong enemies on their own or expose key weaknesses. But even then, the power balance was still heavily skewed toward Jotaro as the main hero.In Part 5, Araki went too far in the opposite direction, he tried so hard to spotlight the side characters that Giorno ended up feeling like a background presence.Part 4 is the one with the best balance.
>>284087800It was pretty stupid, from a certain perspective I appreciate the, well, 'realism', for lack of a better word.Hothead does something monumentally stupid in a bout of emotions, like going alone against a clearly superior opponent, and said superior opponent utterly demolishes them. No twists, no bullshit. Strangely enough, the fact that he fully paid the price and that his dumb actions ended exactly as they should have gave the decision more weight. In most other instances, a character that does this at worst gets a close brush with death before squeezing a close victory or gets saved by someone else and learns the lesson. Hell, half of Polnareff's existence consists of constantly pulling Caesar's but living to tell the tale. There's your example of the opposite extreme. Even Abdul's death was undone and took the burden out of his conscience, now that's a guy who always acted rationally but ate shit covering for a dumbass.
>>284087800Alot of part 2 felt rushed as hell, the training sequence being a time skip being the most egregious example, also him being mad a joseph before charging off also felt out of character compared with what we've seen previously, its like he did a 180º to back to how he was when they first met
>>284088177Honestly, the way I see it, modern manga keeps making their MCs way too rational just so they don’t get dogpiled by these pseudo-intellectual Reddit brainlets. For example Tanjirou, Yuji, whatever, every time it feels like:> “I’M SO FUCKING ANGRY AND EMOTIONAL RIGHT NOW!!but if I act on impulse the plot will go to shit, Twitter will roast me alive, the global audience will boo, and the series will tank… so I guess I’ll behave like a calm, thoughtful dude in his mid-30s instead!!”It’s so damn unnatural.Young people are supposed to be dumb, impulsive creatures. That’s literally what gives characters any humanity or soul. And modern creators (and their audience) seem to have completely forgotten that.
>>284088605it’s actually Jotaro and Giorno whose behavior is far less appropriate for teenagers than Tanjirou or Yuji.Jotaro acts like a seasoned veteran in his late 30s, and Giorno came across like Vito Corleone from the moment he first appeared.
>>284087800Caesar's death is worthless, but the scene of Joseph and Lisa Lisa reacting to his death is amazing and what was cemented in readers'/viewers' minds.
>>284087924Part 4 isn't well balanced at all, Koichi feels more like the main character than Josuke and Josuke's only involvement in the Kira plot is fighting him directly.
>>284087800you wouldn't get it
>>284087800He was italian, they are like thatThey made some of the most beautiful things in history but they are passionate retards
>>284087875that's a dumb take, pure cope to not try to improve your own life
>>284090331weird projection but ok
>>284087800>How the hell is this not considered one of the dumbest, most pointless deaths in shounen history? You just don't understand JoJo.
>>284087800I think most people do recognize that. His death is remembered because of Joseph's reaction. Caesar jobbed just like everyone else who wasn't Joseph. It's probably the biggest criticism of part 2.
>>284089905Koichi basically disappears as a character by the second half.
Jojo is so full of stupid shit you just stop noticing them after a while.
Whole scene was weird as hell. It felt like Araki was dying to kill Caesar, and you can almost see him tweaking Caesar’s personality starting from that dumb argument with Joseph just so he’d have an excuse to off him.Pillar Men are basically like the Chimera Ant Royal Guard in HxH or the Upper Moon Top 3 in Demon Slayer, enemies you’re not supposed to solo unless you’ve got a death wish.Charging in alone looked like straight-up suicide.
>>284087860>Funny enough, Stroheim had a better "bro" dynamic with Joseph>Number of Pillar Men Stroheim was instrumental in defeating: 2 (including the ultimate lifeform)>Number of Pillar Men Caesar was instrumental in defeating: 0.Italy jobbing hard as expected for the era.
>>284091327Pillarmen aren’t actually on the same level of threat as those. The only ones who really demonstrated out-of-scale strength were Wamuu and Ultimate Kars. Esidisi and regular Kars, once they fell for Joseph’s tricks even a single time, were defeated surprisingly easily.
the whole point of jojo is that it's really bizarre, which is juxtaposed by how traumatic and sad it can be sometimes, such as all the deaths in part 3, all the shit that happened in part 5 (when araki was going through his emo phase) and the ending to stone ocean (which salvaged part 6 after the mid first half in the anime), caesar was a cool character and his death was really sad. I think jojo manages to be comedic and entertaining while getting you hooked enough to be attached and emotionally invested in the characters.
>>284087800Jojo is turn off your brain fun since it's inception. It's Garbage but Fun Garbage nonetheless.
>>284087800>2 jobros during ww2>an Italian >a German you can easily tell which one jobs just from that.
>>284087800>The only reason it gets praised is because it’s JoJo, and that’s it.Really stupid post, parts 1 and 2 were what built the popularity that allowed it to become the "Jojo" that could do no wrong. All the garbage he was putting in parts 5 and beyond is what you should be throwing this criticism at.
Will never watch this shit
>>284095879Why is that? I don't think it's shit.
>>284090331>pure cope to not try to improve your own lifeposted on 4chan
Lisa Lisa got done dirty too and her confession to Joseph was off screened
>>284093409For me, JoJo’s canon ends with Part 4, the main storyline of the “vampire trilogy” plus its epilogue-style spinoff in Part 4.Everything from Part 5 onward feels like nothing but unnecessary add-ons.If Araki really wanted to write stories about the Italian mafia, American prisons, or horse racing, he should have done that as an entirely new series, not as JoJo.SBR actually did start out as that kind of attempt, but when it didn’t gain enough popularity, they dragged the JoJo brand back out of the garage and slapped the name on it again, which honestly felt a bit lame.
i've been gettin back into jojos for the first time in like a decade. back then i watched the first four parts but read the latter four (well didn't finish with part 8 because it wasn't done yet), now i'm thinking about doing the latter. heard they fucked up the latter parts in the anime though, is it true or was that just an exaggeration? also what was the mickey scene changed to?
>>284088605No, you're just worked up into a fit because you believe 'every kid is impulsive' and 'every adult is cool and collected', which is simply not true. There are plenty of kids who are smarter than their age (the term wise beyond their years exists for a reason) and plenty of retarded, short-sighted adults acting like teenagers. And it's not like Yuji and Tanjiro haven't had their fair share of freak outs or short-sighted moments; Yuji was sobbing hard and distraught because he impulsively took on a Finger Bearer curse and was gonna get killed before Sukuna took over. Tanjiro would have gotten him and his sister murdered by the Pillars because he was busy lashing out at Sanemi
>>284088177>>284091327Am I remembering wrong or didn't Caesar pretty much have the fight in the bag and only lost because of really bad luck
>>284098291>heard they fucked up the latter parts in the anime thoughYeah, the SO anime isn't good and even some major moments got ruined.>what was the mickey scene changed to?They just cut it.
>>284093397Both since they both lost in WW2?
>>284096523>and her confession to Joseph was off screenedThat she's his mom?
>Took an entire team of high level stand users to deal with a single man who had nothing but a couple blades of grass and a cellphone
>>284100277You're right. It wasn't luck, he made a single small mistake (he stood in front of the light source for his lenses or something so they were weaker for a second?) and Wham got him for it. The "IT WAS ACTUALLY A VERY CLOSE MATCH" card gets played in shounen stuff a lot, but it actually seemed true here.
>>284087860They could have let him have the win, he almost did but got bullshitted into losing because MUH SHADE and even if he died that would have contributed something going forward
