Finishing an anime makes me feel like I've lost a dear friend.
A tearful goodbye to the faces I've spent so much time getting to know.
I yearn for more adventures with my new friends, but alas, the book has closed on their story. It's just a memory now.

Post anime that give you this feeling.

Yeah but attachments to fictions are not healthy.

I felt like this the first time I finished Eva as a young teenager. Thought about it obsessively for like 2 weeks afterward
>>
>>284095804
I was literally just thinking about the Big O
Yeah, sometimes I'll be a few episodes into an anime and I'll already know that I'll be sadwhen its over
a lot of mecha anime has done this for me-- maybe because the stories are always set for maximum melodrama, but even funny ones like Cross Ange have lived in my head for a while after
The early Macross entries, such as SDF, 7 and its OVA do it to me on every rewatch
Even though it was spectacularly mediocre, DitF did this, especially as we all discussed this on /a/

I don't really hyper fixate on anime these days, I'm either happy it ended because watching it felt like a chore due to terrible pacing or disappointed because the ending was shit.

Never felt this. When I really like something I rewatch it.

Not exactly that but when I finished muv luv I wanted more because I wanted to know what going to happen with the world and with the betas I also wanted to know more about the betas

When Big O ended I wasn't sad, I was pissed, total mystery box cop-out. I know it got cut short or whatever, they could have come up with something that didn't piss on the preceding story the way they did.

yeah, s2 in general was pretty mediocre rehashes of s1 eps. s1 was absolutely flawless and self-contained and complete though. its still in there.

First time I finished Clannad: Afterstory and Welcome to the NHK (Anime version) as a teenager, I legitimately considered suicide lol.

Big O ended with season 1 and it was perfect. A flawless combination of Batman film noir and mecha mystery.
Season 2 is a terrible fever dream/case of mass psychosis. It does not exist.

The only times I member felt some emotion over an anime ending were, unironically, Azumanga Daioh and BECK. but that was due to the context of the time i were watching them.
>Azumanga Daioh
I member felt depressed when I watched Azumanga, it was the highlight of my week, the Japanese comedy style, the well executed jokes and situations (the the scene with Osaka, Yukari and the knife) made me crack up. But when it ended I realized that they ended Highschool, and due to their diverse backgrounds and academic / sports achievements, the group will be also scattered like fallen leaves on autumn. For some days I felt sad, but then I realized that is also part of life, to know new people, to spend some time with them, make memories and to let go. Once I realized that, I felt way better.
>BECK
The main thing that crushed my kokoro was when I realized that, most probably, I will not meet a girl like MC's girl, and have a intense relationship like they had. I felt like shit for some days, until I realized that, if I dont do things to procure some outcomes, those outcomes wont come to me fueled by wishful thinking and unicorn farts. Also I realized that I wanted a relationship, but that I disliked MC's girl type.

I'll bite. As long as you realize whats fiction and whats reality, you are good. Shit storms start brewing the instant you start blurring the lines.

Season 2 is very good and I find the endless histrionics over the ending to be incredibly tiring. It's like none of you have watching an anime with a mindscrew ending before.
>>
>>284095804
This is nu /a/, everyone just watches whatever slop comes out and moves on to more slop.
>>
>>284108177
its because s1 had the best possible ending that s2 looks so shitty and defeated the purpose. like whoever wrote it never even consulted what the first season was about.
>>
>>284110346
>its because s1 had the best possible ending
The best ending would've been if they used the Big Duo fight for the finale not a cliffhanger on a plot that barely got started
>>
>>284110468
giant robots were never ever the plot
>>
>>284095804
Lodoss War and Original Ranma 1/2 did that to me
Back then it seemed like japan was another magical world
>>
>>284110535
Michael Seebach/Schwarzwald was a plot thread throughout the first season way more than the Union and Enemy Is Another Big is the best episode of the whole show too
>>
>>284110687
the union and the world and its supposed secrets are also all complete red herrings. the important part about schwarzwald is his use of identity in setting himself apart from rosewater stuff. identity is a big theme but memory is the road to ruin. schwarzwald is nothing more than a tragic anti-roger. the proper thematic counter to roger smith is dorothy who gets replaced by angel in s2.
>>
People just can't handle that season 2 of Big O is better than all of Evangelion, but you just can't reason with those schizotypal personalities.

>>284110535
Complete midwit bait. You either didn't watch Big O, or you're after attention. Go watch espisode R.D.
>>
>>284111257
i may be the only person on /a/ that has ever understood the episode R.D. its about how dorothy was always under alex rosewater's control and angel was the hooded killer. the whole "red destiny" meme is a complete misinterpretation.

In a similar vein I have a huge backlog of things that I know, almost beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I will love that I avoid starting because I know once I finish it it will be done. I just end up watching a comfort show or starting something I know will be enjoyable on some level but not necessarily a heavy hitter. Not sure if that makes sense.

To answer your question though, I felt that way when I finished Shouju Shuumatsu Ryokou and Shimeji Simulation.
>>
>>284111371
You're a tomato and you've lost the plot, but if we keep replicating your posts it will eventually become the real thing.
>>
>>284112425
roger was the only tomato and it was only a small part of a scam alex, angel, and dorothy were running on him to steal big o. S2 shits all over it, of course.
