>still mo 4k releasePAINWhy doesn't most anime get 4k releases? Japanese animation with HDR at high resolutions is mind blowing,.
I bought this the day it came out. There was a huge cardboard stand with the upscaled boxart as a skin. I wish I could go back in time and buy that stand.

AI upscaledDon't care
>>284098580>>284098578I have an 83in oled. 4K is noticable when you aren't at phone resolutions.8K is a meme unless you are at 100+ inches.
Wasn't Animatrix digital? There's no point in doing shitty upscales of digital anime as they often result in the quality being worse. And when cel anime get high resolution rereleases they're grain filtered until they look like shit more often than not too.

Because animation that was originally produced at a much lower resolution looks like absolute shit at 4k and until AI upscaling is perfected, which it isn't even remotely close to, there's no real way to change that.
>>284100138For content developed on film it scales up to like 8 or 9K beautifully.
