>cut most the interactions between light and near, his smugness and constant taunts that made their rivarly entertaining in the manga, turning him basically into a boring L-lite
>change the perfect manga ending to give light a more dignified death, pretty much missing the point
looking back, then 2nd part of the DN anime didn't get enough hate
